Scholarships

The Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust is supporting underprivileged and meritorious children by way of scholarships and awards [details given below] to complete their school and higher education and help in building a brighter future. The Trust is offering scholarships to about 1600 students under various schemes on an ongoing basis annually. The Trust also holds Inter-School Declamation Contests and Inter College Debates.

Nehru Scholarships (1990) Policy Download

These scholarships are being awarded to the deserving students from the weaker sections of society (poor and deserving students) whose parents are not able to bear the expenses of the books, uniforms etc. The scholarship is given right from Class-I to Class-10+2. The scholarship amount is distributed in two equal instalments in a year. This scholarship is available on a continuous basis to students up to class 10+2 provided they clear the annual exam in the first attempt. The scholarship is sent to the school who in turn provide books, uniforms, footwear etc. to the students (In the year 2019-20, it was awarded to 1069 students from 52 schools and an amount of Rs 29,98,200/- was disbursed.)

Mittal Panday Scholarship Girls [Graduate] Policy Download

This scholarship is given to girl students pursuing BA/B.Com/B.Sc. (Degree Courses) & BCA/BBA/B.Tech/B.Ed (Professional Courses). The scholarship covers educational needs of the students for 3 years. The students should have secured minimum 70% marks in class 10+2. For the scholarship to continue till the completion of graduation, the student has to obtain 60% marks every year. The yearly scholarship amount is Rs. 15,000/- for students perusing Degree Courses & Rs. 20,000/- per head for students of Professional Courses or actual expenditure whichever is lower.

Mittal Panday Scholarship [Post Graduate] Policy Download

The purpose of the scholarship is to meet the tuition fee & other miscellaneous expenses of students perusing post graduate courses for one/two years. The student should have secured 70% marks in the graduate examination. For the scholarship to continue, the student has to obtain 60% marks each year. Subject to the eligibility criteria and a student getting admission in Post Graduate courses like M.Com/M.A./M.Sc/PG Diplomas & others would be paid a maximum of Rs. 20,000/- per year or actual expenditure, whichever is lower. For Professional Courses like MBA/MCA/M.Tech/M.Ed)/PG Diplomas & others, the student would be paid maximum of Rs. 25,000/- per year or actual expenditure, whichever is lower.

Mittal Panday Scholarship [Vocational] Policy Download

This scholarship is given to the students of ITI for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana undergoing vocational training with the aim to help them become employable. The scholarship is given in single instalment of Rs. 2,500/- each to 50 girls’ students and is distributed in November during annual function.

Mittal Panday Scholarship [Meritorious] Policy Download

The students scoring first position in Ludhiana district in class 12th board examinations conducted by CBSE/ICSECICSE/Punjab State Education Board in the disciplines of Medical, Non-Medical, Commerce & Humanities would be eligible for this scholarship.

The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage and motivate the brilliant & meritorious students to continue to perform better in their further studies/careers.

The Trust provides tuition fees and hostel expenses to support the student in his/her higher education till the completion of the degree/professional course.

Nehru Scholarship [Armed Forces] (2019) Policy Download

An MOU was signed on 10th November 2018 between Adjutant General Branch, Integrated HQ of Ministry of Defence (Army) & Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust. The Trust would provide scholarships towards education of 100 children of Indian Army soldiers who die in harness (Physical casualties).
The contribution shall be utilized as per details specified below:
Class I to VIII : Rs. 10,000.
Class IX to XII : Rs. 14,000.
The Trust by Rehabilitation & Welfare Section (Corpus). These forms would be of children preferably girls studying in class I to V.

Mittal Panday Scholarship [Trust] Policy Download

The purpose of the scholarship policy is to support the education of the wards of support staff and admin staff of Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust. The wards of support staff will be paid Rs. 6,000/- per year and the wards of admin. staff will be paid Rs. 10,000/- per year towards school fees. For college education up to graduation, the wards of support as well as admin staff will be paid Rs. 25,000/- per year

Mittal Panday Scholarship [School]

The purpose of the scholarship policy is to support the education of the wards of support and admin staff of Sat Paul Mittal School.
The wards of support staff will be paid Rs. 6,000/- per year
The wards of admin. staff will be paid Rs. 10,000/- per year
For college education up to graduation, the wards of support as well as admin staff will be paid Rs. 25,000/- per year

Meritorious Awards Policy Download

In addition to above mentioned scholarships, the meritorious students of Sat Paul Mittal School are also given cash awards, as per the recommendations of the Principal. Cash awards to the students who score 85% and above in the board examinations as per below mentioned criteria:
> 90% to 100% : Rs. 10,000/- per student
85% to 90% : Rs. 5,000/- per student
100% marks in a subject : Rs. 5,000/- per student
